Last Friday Feb 24th 2023, traders of the Tiko Main market contributed their own quota to the Decentralization process of the gateway municipality by electing a new Market Management Committee.

The election which was coordinated by the technical team of the Tiko Council under the supervision of the 4th Deputy Mayor, Waindim Rudolf was aimed at putting in place a system that will oversee and ensure the smooth functioning of activities at the Tiko Main market I collaboration with the Market master of the Market.

During the highly contested election,Madam Patience Forteh else Ngalle was voted as the pioneer Tiko market management committee president for a period of two years.

It should be noted that at first those who were managing the market were under the appellation of Tiko market Association.The mandate for the management committee is two years renewable.

To the fourth Deputy Mayor, Waindim Rudolf,these market management committee officials will go a long way to ease the management of the market in collaboration with the market master for the council to attain it’s Decentralization drive thus taking the gateway city to an eldorado in the future.Mayor wiandim Rudolf also called on the traders of the Tiko Market to respect the management committee members and make sure they pay their taxes and be law abiding.

The election ended with the installation of the executives who are to pilot activities of the Tiko market for the next two years.
